How to get plywood sheets for your next construction project

1

Calculate how many plywood sheets your project will need

Measure the area that you will be placing your plywood sheets on. Then enter your measurements into Billd’s plywood calculator.

This calculator assumes that you are using 4’ x 8’ plywood sheets and that you have an average waste factor of 10%, which is on the low end. Meaning that you will lose 10% of your plywood sheets when you cut and configure your plywood to install on a wall, subfloor, or wherever else you may need plywood sheathing.

The calculator works by using the equation below:

Width (Feet) X Length (Feet) x 1.1

32 SF

= Total sheets of plywood rounded to the nearest number

The estimated cost is based on the average cost of plywood of between $30 and $60 per 4’x8’ sheet. The price of plywood depends on a variety of factors including:

  • The quantity of plywood being purchased
  • The type of plywood
  • The thickness of plywood
  • Highly fluctuating lumber costs
